Microsoft's Xbox head Phil Spencer has stated again his personal wishes for backwards compatibility on Xbox One.

In an interview with Gizmodo Brazil, Spencer said "it would be great to have support for original Xbox games" on the Xbox One.

He also stated that he "would love to have the ability to play Xbox 360 on PC at some point."

However, those features are unlikely to arrive soon, as "it is a matter of priority" - of which X360 support on Xbox One is the top, followed by "many other things we want to do as well."

According to Spencer, it took the Xbox team eight months to engineer how to run X360 games on x86 chip architecture.

Microsoft announced Xbox 360 backwards compatibility on the Xbox One at E3 2015 this year, opening up the possibility for many fan-favourite titles to be played on the new console.
