A petition calling for Microsoft to reinstate the Xbox One’s massively unpopular used game and Internet connectivity policies is calling for supporters.
The petition, titled “Microsoft: Give us back the Xbox One we were promised at E3”, is seeking 5000 signatures, and has 4199 at the time of writing.
“This was to be the future of entertainment,” it reads.
“A new wave of gaming where you could buy games digitally, then trade, share or sell those digital licenses.
“Essentially, it was Steam for Xbox. But consumers were uninformed, and railed against it, and it was taken away because Sony took advantage of consumers uncertainty.
“We want this back. It can't be all or nothing, there must be a compromise.”
Last month, following widespread condemnation of its policies from the gaming community, Microsoft abandoned the Xbox One’s Internet connection requirement and revamped its sharing capabilities.
