Electronic Arts' Battlefield 3 Premium service has topped 800,000 users in a two-week launch window.
"We are very pleased with the performance so far," stated EA Games chief Patrick Soderlund in an interview with USA Today.
The service allows players early access to all five downloadable content packs for Battlefield 3, as well as additional items such as new assignments and dog tags for AUD $49.99 on Origin, AUD $64.95 on PlayStation Network and 4000 MS Points on Xbox LIVE.
Soderlund also commented that gamers can expect the publisher to introduce more original properties in the future:
"As game makers, we have to continuously work and launch new intellectual properties into the market.
"If we think we can live off of our existing brands and that only, I think it will not only be costly, but a short-lived mistake."
