Mafia III will receive three paid story DLC packs and a range of free post-release content, developer 2K Games announced this weekend.
Described as "wholly separate experiences," the story expansions face the game's protagonist Lincoln Clay off against new enemies and threats.
In "Faster, Baby!" Lincoln takes on a corrupt, anti-Civil-Rights Sheriff with former flame Roxy Laveau in a story where "fast cars, dramatic chases, and stunt driving take centre stage."
The True Detective-sounding "Sign of the Times" sees Lincoln investigating a series of ritual murders, chasing a cult "from the dark heart of the old bayou to the drug-ridden counterculture of the inner city."
"Stones Unturned," the final story DLC, teams Lincoln with a CIA agent "to settle a blood feud that began in the war-torn jungles of Vietnam."
In addition, all players will receive a range of post-release content for free, including new outfits, weapons, and vehicle customisation options, as well as a series of car races.
2K Games will sell the three story DLC packs individually, or as a Season Pass for US$29.99; they will also be included in the Deluxe and Collector's Editions of the game.
Mafia III launches October 7th on new-gen consoles and PC, and can be pre-ordered through Mighty Ape.
