Those who purchased the Ultimate Edition of Battlefield Hardline on PS4 are unable to play the game’s first DLC pack, even though it should have been available to them last week.
The game’s Ultimate Edition included a Premium DLC pass, but for technical reasons the DLC hasn’t unlocked for Ultimate Edition owners, keeping Criminal Activity – which contains new maps and kit – out of their hands.
Criminal Activity has been available to other Premium members since June 17, and will be available to the public on June 31.
"This is a big mess up that shouldn't happen,” said game's multiplayer producer Zach Mumbach on the Battlefield forums.
"I do know we learned a big lesson on this one. We'll learn from the mistake, use it to improve our pipeline, and move forward with an apology. All we can do at this point.
"Right now we are looking at all the digital versions on PS4 to make sure everyone can download. Best update I can give you right now.”
Criticism of the delay was fair, Mumbach added.
“I can say this is the first big online game we've done at Visceral.
“We've got a great team, never made a BF game before but Hardline had a VERY stable launch.”
