Chronicle director Josh Trank has signed with Sony Pictures to direct a live-action adaptation of beloved PlayStation game Shadow of the Colossus.

Trank has allegedly been a fan of the game since it launched in 2005, and sought out the job.

He is currently associated with the development of two Marvel superhero franchises in Fantastic Four and the Spider-Man spinoff Venom, as well as an adaptation of comic book Red Star.

The film will be produced by Kevin Misher (The Scorpion King, Public Enemies), who is currently involved in the remake of Carrie.
