Bethesda is backpedalling on its free-to-play action game BattleCry, according to correspondence with Progress Bar.
A rep from the publisher wrote, "We have concerns about the Battlecry game and whether it is meeting the objectives we have for it. We are evaluating what improvements the game needs to meet our quality standards."
Putting a productive face on the statement, the rep continued, "[Battlecry Studios] remains busy during this process on multiple projects."
BattleCry was unveiled in May 2014, and the team-based action game has since appeared at numerous trade shows and events, but was missing from EB Expo last weekend.
An exclusive beta was announced for Australia and New Zealand at PAX Australia last year, but like the game itself, that would appear to be on hold.
It is rare that major studios are as open as this regarding development struggles, which may indicate a cancellation on the horizon.
