There will be no player-controlled flying mounts in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor.
In a wide-ranging interview with Gameplanet, World of Warcraft creative director Alex Afrasiabi told us, "At ship, we will not allow flying in the expansion - at all."
In previous expansions, characters have been forced to explore new zones on the ground, before being able to train for the ability to fly.
"We feel like flying is fun. It's cool. It lets you traverse great space in short time, but it does shrink the world."
Afrasiabi told Gameplanet that Blizzard will be closely watching how the community responds to the change.
You can watch our full interview with Afrasiabi here. In it, the creative director discusses the Iron Horde and its key characters, pre-expansion events, and how the expansion will open.
World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor is anticipated for release later this year.
