Those fearing the demise of a World of Warcraft movie can rest easy, according to Bobby Kotick.
The Activision CEO has revealed that the project has a new writer, and that the movie is “important to Blizzard".
"[Blizzard are] very excited about having a ‘World of Warcraft’ film. They’ve been very careful and thoughtful about the development process.”
A report from Variety suggests that the production company Legendary Entertainment is still calling the shots, with writer Charles Leavitt (K-Pax, Blood Diamond) on board to write the script.
As Blizzard's MMO has shed a million players in the last three months, time may be of the essence.
