Trials of Osiris is finally coming to Destiny 2

After a mammoth community event involving literally billions of resources was completed yesterday, Bungie has now confirmed that Trials of Osiris will be coming to Destiny 2.

The high-stakes PvP event was last seen in Destiny 1 – a spiritual successor called Trials of the Nine was originally in D2 but never captured the same essence.

In the original Trials, two teams of three players fought it out in elimination rounds with limited lives. Teams that managed to achieve nine wins in a row were granted access to Osiris' Lighthouse on Mercury.

"Destiny 2 needs aspirational experiences likes Trials in PVP," game director Luke Smith said on Twitter

Trials of Osiris will return as part of the the game's upcoming Season of the Worthy on March 13. Whether that's the entirety of content coming next season remains to be seen, but one has to wonder if it'll be made more accessible for those that are more casual in their playstyle.

Platinum Games announce Project G.G.

Platinum Games have long been known for creating some of the best action titles in gaming. Previously the studio has only worked under contract or with external publishers for it's games, but that is all set to change with the studio's latest announcement.

Chief game designer, Hideki Kamiya took to the company blog to reveal the new title, under the working name of Project G.G. In the post, Kamiya states that it will be "an all-new, all-original project" for the studio and that "unlike any of the games we’ve made so far, it’s going to be a 100% PlatinumGames title. For everything from its setting and characters, to its game design and story, to how it’s promoted – PlatinumGames is in full control."

No longer beholden to publisher desires, this new title will see PlatinumGames free to go as wild as they like with the design, which should be interesting, considering their previous body of work,

Series X specs confirm a whopping 12 giggidy-flops

Microsoft has detailed the specs for its next-gen console, due to release at the end of this year.

There's certainly a lot of technobabble and hype-speak involved, but for those that love to scrawl through that kind of thing like my uncle and his toenail collection, here ya go.

First up, the Series X will sport a custom AMD processor with Zen 2 and RDNA 2 architectures that offers four times the processing power of an Xbox One. The resulting GPU performance will be an impressive 12 teraflops – double that of the Xbox One X.

A new system called Variable Rate Shading (VRS) can prioritise specific effects, characters or important environmental objects resulting in more stable frame rates and higher resolutions.

This generation's hot buzzword isn't missing either, with Microsoft describing its Hardware-accelerated DirectX Raytracing as a console first, and something that will bring true-to-life lighting, accurate reflections, and realistic acoustics to Series X games.

The group of employees who originally reached the settlement have now hired a new legal team and are seeking more than the original offer. The new legal counsel has withdrawn the $10 million settlement, citing errors and "improprieties by prior class counsel."

Following new information from the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, that stated the group should have in fact reached a payout of $400 million. A whopping $390 million more than the original offer.
