Crytek’s director of creative development believes any functionality included in the next console generation that prohibits second-hand games from working would be “absolutely awesome.”

The next PlayStation and Xbox are both rumoured to include anti-pre-owned game measurements, although neither company has publicly discussed any details regarding their next-gen hardware.

Speaking with CVG, Crytek’s Rasmus Hojengaard said, “From a business perspective that would be absolutely awesome. It's weird that [second-hand] is still allowed because it doesn't work like that in any other software industries, so it would be great if they could somehow fix that issue as well.”

Crytek is currently working on the recently announced Crysis 3.
