Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will not come to Wii U due to the developer’s past experiences with Nintendo.

The reboot is confirmed to be coming to PC, Mac and iPad, however Beamdog subsidiary Overhaul Games has ruled out Nintendo citing poor past experiences with the platform holder.

“We don't do Nintendo development,” said Beamdog’s Trent Oster. “Our previous experience with Nintendo was enough to ensure there will not be another.”

Overhaul Games previously ported MDK2 to WiiWare, and added motion control.

“My problems with Nintendo are: requiring 6000 unit sales before payment, a certification process that took us 9 months and a 40mb limit,” added Oster, who previously worked at BioWare.

“Nintendo isn't a good platform for developers. The Wii is a toy, not a console.”

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is coming this winter.
