Writing for Gameplanet, my inbox is continuously inundated with trailers and gaming news every day. It's not often I click on a trailer that gives me a 'wow' moment, but that's precisely what happened when I watched the reveal trailer for Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood.
While the name may not scream originality, Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood just whet my appetite in all the right ways with the trailer below. Just wait for that transition to the music...
While there's not a whole lot to go on as of yet, the game is based on the pen and paper RPG and will be the first action-RPG game adapted from the source material. The game is being developed by Cyanide, with Big Ben publishing so make of that what you will.
"The video game carries over all the main aspects of the pen-and-paper game in an unflinchingly mature universe overflowing with current topics such as the destruction of nature by man and their machines. Rage, a central element of the game, brings a subtlety to the game which requires players to learn to control it in order to make the most of it."
The game will see players in the role of Cahal, a werewolf who was exiled years ago but has returned to his endangered tribe to fight back against "Endron, the oil-producing subsidiary of the multinational Pentex", who are laying waste to the surrounding forest.
While details are scarce, that sweet werewolf howl music transition gave me a major case of the grins. I'll be keeping my eye on this one.
