UPDATE: For reasons unknown, Deadly Premonition is still not available on the NZ eShop.
In an unexpected yet excellent announcement, Nintendo has revealed that Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise, a sequel to the cult-classic survival horror original that released back in 2010 will release next year.
Announced during Nintendo's latest Direct Stream, the sequel will follow FBI agent Aaliyah Davis and her investigation of an old serial killer case. Naturally, her case is connected to an old case handled by the protagonist from the first game, FBI agent Francis York Morgan.
Nintendo stated that players will take control of both characters during what will undoubtedly be another ludicrously bizarre story. According to his Wikipedia page, original writer and director Hidetaka Suehiro is back in the lead for the upcoming sequel.
On top of the sequel news, Nintendo also announced that the first game is being released on the Switch eShop later today. While the B-grade game was a bit of a nightmare to play, it's downright weirdness and unexpected comedic moments, combined with an intriguing story make it well worth your time if you can look past the jank.
