A release date for Supermassive Games' first instalment of The Dark Pictures Anthology has been confirmed, with Man of Medan set to release on August 30.
After the success of Until Dawn, it appears Supermassive are going all-in on the popcorn-flick horror genre – most notably the choice-driven narrative which returns in Man of Medan.
Set on a World War II shipwreck, a crew of divers must take refuge as a storm rolls in. Though, as you might expect with a horror story, they find they may have been safer out in the storm.
Publisher Bandai Namco detailed a few extra bonuses available to those that pre-order, the most notable being immediate access to the Curator's Cut.
“The Curator’s Cut is different to the traditional Director’s Cut as it gives the player new ways to directly influence the story and its outcomes," said executive producer Pete Samuels. "Players will see and change events and relationships from the perspective of characters that weren’t under control in their first playthrough.”
The Curator's Cut will be made available for free to all players at a later date.
The Dark Pictures Anthology - Man of Medan releases August 30 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
