New difficulties and challenges are coming to Days Gone in June, says game director Jeff Ross.

Talking with the PlayStation Blog, Ross detailed a new 'Survival' difficulty that will remove HUD visuals like maps and indicators for a more immersive experience.

The game mode will also remove features like fast travel and Survival Vision.

June will also see new weekly Bike, Horde, or Combat challenges introduced, although an internet connection will be required.

On top of new the new difficulty, Days Gone's latest patch has brought some much-needed performance fixes to the game.

Patch 1.05 released today at a sizeable 136MB download. While not confirmed by Sony Bend, players are already reporting additional fixes for framerates, stability, glitches, and bugs.

In Gameplanet's review for Days Gone, Dan noted the title was "held back by countless technical issues," so hopefully some of these fixes will help.
