Capcom has confirmed the release date for its upcoming Resident Evil Switch versions.

Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4 will release to the Nintendo Eshop on May 21.

While pricing is yet to be confirmed, pre-orders will be available from February 28.

While Resident Evil: Revelations 1 & 2 have both released to the Switch, this will mark the first of the main series to debut on the console.

Resident Evil originally released on the original PlayStation in 1996. Its prequel, Resident Evil 0 came out in 2002 on Gamecube, followed by Resident Evil 4 2005.

While initially exclusive to the Gamecube, Resident Evil 4 later saw releases on PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii. Not only is the title one of the best-selling horror titles, with a total of 7.3 million copies sold, it also saw critical acclaim, with the original Gamecube version holding a 96% score on metacritic.
