THQ Nordic is at it again, this time purchasing the rights to the open-world action adventure title, Outcast
Originally developed by Belgian-based studio Appeal, the original Outcast released in 1999.
A sequel was cut short when Appeal fell into financial difficulty, eventually declaring bankruptcy in 2002.
For many games, that would be the end of the story, but Appeal's original founders Yves Grolet, Franck Sauer and Yann Robert acquired the rights from publisher Infogrames and resurrected the studio.
A complete remake titled Outcast: Second Contact was released in 2017.
The publisher has stated it currently has 35 unannounced games in development.
