The rumour of a Crash Team Racing remaster has proven true with a trailer reveal at the Game Awards on Friday.

In addition to remastered HD visuals, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will include online multiplayer, while games modes including Adventure, Time Trials, Battle Mode, and Arcade Single & Cup races will all be returning.

The remaster is being developed by Beenox – a Canadian studio behind a number of Activision Spider-Man titles, and similar to the N-Sane Trilogy, Nitro-Fueled will be built "from the ground up."

"The love that fans have for Crash Team Racing goes beyond just a fun kart racing game," said Beenox co-studio head Thomas Wilson. "We’re excited to finally show fans what we’ve been working on to celebrate its 20th anniversary."

"We are giving fans a whole lot more, including all the characters and tracks they love with tons of added animations and personality that the original platform just couldn’t convey."

Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will release June 21, 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
