343 Industries' Jeff Easterling and James Bachici, two of the developers behind Halo recently held a 343 Mixer social stream and were asked if a battle royale mode would make it's way in to the recently announced Halo Infinite. "I'll tell you right now, the only BR we're really interested in is Battle Rifle." replied Easterling.

Recent titles like PUBG and Fortnite have propelled the battle royale genre to unprecedented heights with Fortnite in particular becoming somewhat of a cultural phenomenon. While major studios like EA and Activision recently announced that a battle royale mode would make it's way in to their next respective games, it's nice to see 343 sticking to their guns and not shoehorning in the mode due to it being the biggest craze in gaming right now.

343 Industries announced Halo Infinite at E3 this year and stated that it would be running on the new internally created Slipspace Engine. Fans expressed their disappointment at the lack of Master Chief game time in the last Halo. 343 has stated that they've heard these complaints "Loud and clear" and that Halo Infinite will bring the focus back to Master Chief's story following the events of Halo Guardians.

Halo Infinite is also set to showcase a brand new art style, taking inspiration from some of the "most iconic and historic parts of the Halo franchise" as well as player feedback.
