Those hoping to finally get their hands on Crackdown 3 will have to wait even longer, as the game has been pushed to February 2019.
The new date comes a day after Kotaku reported rumours of further delays.
"Our fans' response to the signature antics and explosive gameplay of "Crackdown 3" has been incredible," Microsoft said in a statement issued to Windows Central.
"To ensure we deliver the experience they deserve, "Crackdown 3" will be launching in Feb 2019. We look forward to sharing more on "Crackdown 3" this Sunday during the Xbox E3 2018 briefing."
Initially announced at E3 2014, the game was slated for a 2016 release. It was then pushed to coincide with the release of the Xbox One X, however this way not to be, and the game was delayed again – being scheduled for Autumn 2018.
While the delay will give developer Sumo Digital more time to refine and polish, the more likely reason for this delay is to clear the way for Rockstar's behemoth release of Red Dead Redemption 2
Crackdown 3 is available to pre-order from Mighty Ape on Xbox One.
