Remedy Entertainment action adventure Alan Wake will soon be removed from physical stores, Steam, and the Xbox Games Store due to music licensing issues.
Licences for the game's music expires tomorrow, at which time the game will no longer be available for sale. That's seven years to the day after it first launched here on Xbox 360. It hit PC almost two years later, on February 16, 2012.
Microsoft and Remedy are considering licence renegotiation, but right now the game's future is uncertain.
Spin-off Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is unaffected by the issue, as Remedy negotiated the music for that game itself.
"Obviously having to remove the game from stores is rather unfortunate," head of communications Remedy Thomas Puha told Polygon.
For those yet to pick it up, Alan Wake is currently 90 percent off on Steam.
