Mass Effect: Andromeda's dodgy animations won't be fixed by the game's launch this Thursday, BioWare says.
Last week, the game's face animations came under fire after EA Access subscribers were given limited access to the much-hyped action-RPG, and a press embargo lifted for coverage of an early chunk of the game.
There was also some mockery directed at some of Andromeda's other animations and bugs.

Over the weekend, Mass Effect: Andromeda lead designer Ian Frazier said that these things won't be fixed in a day one patch, as "that ship has sailed".
"We'll have more patches later on, but exactly what goes into them is still in discussion," he tweeted.
"To be clear, there IS a day 1 patch," he added.
"But I'm told that patch is already included in the early access builds."
Of course, because the world is huge and some people are absolute dicks, a former EA employee was blamed for the bung animations by hateful troll Ethan Ralph, an early GamerGate "personality" who fell squarely on the harassment side of that movement and was eventually disowned by it.
Of course, some of Ralph's braindead followers sent said former employee vile messages, which prompted a response from BioWare.
"Recently, a former EA employee was misidentified as a lead member of the Mass Effect: Andromeda development team," the studio tweeted.
"These reports are false. We respect the opinions of our players and community, and welcome feedback on our games. But attacking individuals regardless of their involvement in the project, is never acceptable."
I encountered some stiff and robotic animations in Andromeda's opening hours, and found them incredibly off-putting.
However, these problems only appeared in the game's early scenes for me, and I found the animations absolutely fine after I'd played for a few hours.
Was this Stockholm Syndrome? Or did the 1GB patch that arrived on Thursday morning fix things? To find out, check out my review of Andromeda when it goes live tonight at 8pm NZT.
