The Uncharted movie adaptation has once again seen a change in talent, with Deadline now reporting that Shawn Levy is on board to direct.

Levy previously directed two episodes of the acclaimed Netflix series Stranger Things, as well as the Night at the Museum films and robot-boxing movie Real Steel.

He replaces Joe Carnahan, who was recently hired to write the script; Carnahan will now focus on directing Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys For Life.

Other directors previously attached to the project included David O. Russell (Three Kings) and Seth Gordon (The King of Kong).

The film had a somewhat optimistic release date of June 30th, 2017, until Sony Pictures pulled it from its release schedule last month.

With a script down and a director on board, however, the project may gain some more momentum.
