The Xbox 360 is getting a large interface upgrade starting today.
The update adds Internet Explorer and Bing voice search to the platform, gives the dashboard a new look, and changes the Zune Video Marketplace to Xbox Video.
It also adds a recommendations and ratings system, which gives suggestions based on previously viewed content, what friends are playing or watching, and what is popular with the Live community as a whole.
A user’s ability to rate content on the Xbox will be further expanded too, and content can be pinned to the home screen.
SmartGlass functionality is expected when Windows 8 launches on October 26.
The update will roll out “over the next few days” according to Microsoft.
