In what is almost certainly a response to the recently announced PlayStation super slim, Microsoft has cut the recommended retail price of a range of Xbox 360 hardware.

The Xbox 360 250GB package has dropped $150 to AU$299, the 4GB console is now $50 cheaper at AU$199, and the 4GB console and Kinect sensor bundle is $100 cheaper at AU$299.

Standalone Kinect sensors have been discounted to AU$149 from $199.

The price drop – effective from tomorrow – is exclusive to the New Zealand and Australian markets.
