The unannounced game cancelled by Minecraft developer Mojang was to be a first-person shooter.

The game was not canned because it wasn't good, but rather because Mojang "did not want more external dependencies," said studio founder Markus "Notch" Persson.

"The success of Minecraft meant we could focus on projects fully owned by us," he said.

Future collaborations would be considered, provided they were "not to make money".

“If there are other reasons to collaborate, maybe!"
