A website that lists Danish government grant recipients contains a few details of Limbo developer Playdead’s next title.

The game, imaginatively going by the working title "Project 2", is a 2.5D platformer “in color" that "tells the story of a boy's struggle against evil forces trying to take over the world through questionable experiments on human bodies," according to the site.

Release platforms are listed as PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac.

A single screenshot suggests an aesthetic similar to that found in Limbo, if less cartoony.

Last year, Playdead CEO Dino Patti said that the game was “similar in many ways, but so different" to Limbo, and called it "more weird”.

Production of the game began in 2010 and the studio expected it to take "at least three and a half years", which suggests an early 2014 launch date.
