Activision and EA have reached an out of court settlement regarding Activision’s claims that EA poached staff from its Infinity Ward studio.

Activision had sought USD $400m from EA for disruptions and delays caused by the departure of ex-Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West, as well as 40 other employees.

"Activision and Electronic Arts have decided to put this matter behind them," Activision lawyer Beth Wilkinson said today after a hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Settlement terms are unlikely to be disclosed, and this decision has no effect on the related case West and Zampella brought against Activision regarding royalties and bonuses for their work on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, as well as their dismissal from the company.

That case goes to court on May 29, unless Activision is granted an extension to get a recently-appointed lawyer up to speed on the details.
