The Ouya console will feature open-source media player and digital entertainment hub XBMC as well as Internet radio service TuneIn, the Ouya team has announced.
“That’s right. The award-winning, open source media player and entertainment hub is coming to OUYA,” reads the console’s Kickstarter page.
XBMC will be tailored to the platform.
“We are delighted to announce that XBMC will be working with Ouya to ensure that XBMC works well on the Ouya platform,” read a post on XBMC’s blog.
TuneIn offers 70,000 stations and two million on-demand programs across 230 countries and territories, according to its official site.
New pictures on the Ouya Kickstarter reveal that the device is about the size of a Rubik’s Cube.
With 31 hours remaining, the Ouya has raised an unprecedented US$7,315,819 (AU$6,929,448) from 54,923 backers.
