Despite Major Nelson’s dislike of the word, Microsoft has acquired the domain name Xbone.com.

Fusible reports that the company acquired the domain without filing a dispute claim against its owner.

At the beginning of this week, Major Nelson – aka Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb – took to NeoGAF to express his dislike of the term xbone, a play on Xbox One.

“I don't like it... it disrespects the teams that have put in thousands of hours (already) into the development of the product,” said Hryb.

“Sure, it's cheeky but I don't care for it myself.”

In July, Microsoft took ownership of XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net after filing a complaint with the National Arbitration Forum.
