The much-delayed XCOM FPS being developed by 2K Marin may now be a third-person shooter, if a handful of leaked screenshots are anything to go by.
The screens were allegedly included in a 2K marketing survey, which also asked responders how they would feel if the game were released as a PSN and XBLA download rather than a full-price title. A PC version was not mentioned.
The survey allegedly also states that the game is “being developed by the same people who created BioShock 2".
“We have not made any new announcements regarding the XCOM title currently in development at 2K Marin, and it is our policy not to comment on rumours or speculation," said a 2K representative to the surprise of absolutely no-one.
Announced at E3 in 2010, the 60s-era XCOM prequel has seen several delays, with its launch date moving from November 2011 all the way through to 2013-2014.
Meanwhile, Firaxis Games’ more-faithful-to-the-original remake XCOM: Enemy Unknown is due out on October 13.
