As of September 25, PlayStation Plus members will be able to play the Starhawk singleplayer campaign for free.
A special multiplayer version of the game will also be available on that date for US$19.99 (AU$19.13), as will Starhawk’s latest update (1.04), which adds three new gameplay modes as well as five new maps and a pile of gameplay tweaks to the title.
Gatekeeper is a hawk-only team-based mode wherein a player must pick up an energy ball, fly through target gates to accumulate points, and the deposit the ball in a ring at the centre of the map.
Assault is a multi-stage attack/defend mode, and Arena Deathmatch features limited vehicles, quick respawns, and randomly dropping battle structures.
Australian pricing on the multiplayer-only version of Starhawk is still to be confirmed.
