Ubisoft has shipped a batch of Rocksmith copies to Europe without the activation codes required to unlock the game.

As a consequence, a number of players who ordered the game on PC have discovered that they must email an Ubisoft with a digital image of their receipt and await the arrival of a key.

This has gone down about as well as you'd expect.

Ubisoft has said it will compensate those affected by unlocking all minigames in the guitar tutor title.
