Microsoft has released a SmartGlass app for Android.

The app requires Android 4.0 or higher, and allows Xbox 360 owners to use an Android device to navigate its dashboard, control movie playback, surf the web using gesture controls, input text, and more.

Browser sessions and video playback can be switched between the Xbox 360 and Android device.

SmartGlass also has a second screen function which shows extra information for supported shows and games.

The iOS SmartGlass app is yet to be released.
