Starbreeze and 505 Games have announced some details regarding the game formerly known as P13.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was developed alongside Swedish filmmaker Josef Fares, and tells the tale of two sons on a quest to save their dying father.

To do so, the pair must find the “Water of Life”, however only one appears up to the task.

“One must be strong where the other is weak, brave where the other is fearful,” reads the game synopsis.

Fares was confident his choice of studios would make the tale unique.

“When I first visualised Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons I knew I wanted to combine the deep, engrossing storyline of a film with the physical experience of a video game, allowing players to emotionally connect with the characters as they trek across sweeping, interactive environments such as peaceful vistas, foreboding forests and dangerous mountainsides,” he said.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons will release on PSN, Steam, and XBL in autumn next year.
