Vivendi is still considering selling it's majority share of Activision, according to a CVG source.
The source has stated that the option for a sale of Vivendi's €8 billion (NZ $12.6 billion) asset "absolutely remains under consideration" for the Paris-based publishing behemoth.
Vivendi finance director Philippe Capron stated last week that the company was no longer interested in a "straight break-up" between its media and telecoms divisions in an effort to allay a €14 (NZ $22.1) billion debt.
Vivendi share prices have halved since 2007, and the sale of Activision Blizzard is viewed by many as the most suitable method countering debt and restoring share values.
CVG has also reported that Microsoft held unsuccessful acquisition talks with Vivendi, whilst Sony is believed to have immediately ruled out any purchase.
