According to Variety, Sony has hired a new team to rewrite the upcoming Uncharted movie.

Marianne and Cormac Wibberley, the writers behind such illustrious titles as Disney's National Treasure and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, will now take over the script.

Neil Burger (Limitless and The Illusionist) is "no longer attached" to direct the film. Sony will now wait until the new script is produced before appointing a new director.

These latest setbacks for the Uncharted movie follow a number of abortive attempts by Sony to shore up a plausible story, cast and production team.

In 2011, Burger replaced David O. Russell as director and released a statement indicating that the project would be "starting from scratch", which now appears to be the position Marianne and Cormac Wibberley find themselves in.
