Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto is looking for opportunities in other mediums that his company may be suitable for.

Games may not always be Nintendo’s core business, the prominent designer told investors this week.

"I often think of other things, such as what the future of the Japanese movie industry will be like. I do not have any concrete visions yet, but I am trying to keep my eyes on a variety of fields and to find any small possibilities for Nintendo to be involved in one way or the other," he said.

Miyamoto cited Nintendo's recent Audioguide Louvre app for Nintendo 3DS - a free download that acts as a private tour for visitors of the Louvre museum - as an example of non-games business opportunities.

"[Audioguide Louvre] has not made money yet, but it has the potential to be one of our core businesses in the future," he said.
