A job listing on Sledgehammer Games’ website – now removed – confirms that the company will develop the next installment in the Call of Duty series.

The ad sought a “Senior FX Artist to help create the most exceptional real-time effects with hyper realism for the next Call of Duty game".

Those applying required a "solid professional experience and knowledge of the limitations and performance of current generation hardware (360, PS3)," which strongly suggests the title will appear on current-generation consoles.

Sledgehammer Games developed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 alongside Infinity Ward.

Prior to that, it was developing a third-person Call of Duty spin-off, which was to be more of an action/adventure title.
