Switch leakers fired from jobs, under police investigation

The individuals behind last week's Nintendo Switch leak have lost their jobs and could face charges, as it turns out they had stolen the system from their workplace.

Last week, NeoGAF user hiphoptherobot posted a video of the Switch's UI in action, and claimed to have the console thanks to a shipping error.

"I just happened to get lucky because unnamed store decided to ship early for whatever reason," hiphoptherobot wrote.

However, Nintendo quickly deduced that the system was actually one of several stolen from a US distributor.

"Nintendo has determined these units were stolen in an isolated incident by employees of a U.S. distributor, with one system being illegally resold," said the company in a statement.

Hearthstone is getting 390 new cards this year

Blizzard will add a mammoth 390 cards to Hearthstone this year – easily the biggest single-year total in the game's three year history.

The cards will come via three 130-card expansions. There won't be any smaller Adventure releases that include story and bosses, but elements of the Adventure format will appear, the company said.

In addition, a number of cards will soon only be available in the game's Wild mode, which was launched last year so Blizzard could retire overpowered cards from Standard play (which is the basis for competitive and ranked play), but also keep them available for those that wish to continue use them.

Switch ships early to customer, who reveals UI in video

Nintendo's Switch isn't out until March 3, but someone has one already.

For some reason, NeoGAF user hiphoptherobot got his or her Switch retail pre-order early, and has cautiously shared a video of the system's UI.

Hiphoptherobot won’t be selling the unit despite some tempting offers, because he or she doesn’t want to risk legal action from Nintendo.

"It isn't like I grabbed it off the back of a truck or anything, I just happened to get lucky because unnamed store decided to ship early for whatever reason," hiphoptherobot wrote.

No games arrived with it, so the store got that right at least.

Kiwi RPG Path of Exile gets huge new expansion

The next Path of Exile expansion is the game's biggest yet, says developer Grinding Gear Games.

The Fall of Oriath will add a fifth act to the free-to-play Kiwi action-RPG, and remix the existing four to create a new game experience.

That means rather than having to repeat the game's first four acts three times to get to its Atlas of Worlds endgame, you can play through the first four acts, act five, and then the first four remixed (as acts six through 10) to get to its end game content.
