Fifth Project Zero on the way from Tecmo Koei and Nintendo

Fifth Project Zero on the way from Tecmo Koei and Nintendo

Tecmo Koei and Nintendo are working together on a new Project Zero title that looks like it will be a Wii U exclusive.

Gematsu translated the official announcement from Japanese magazine Famitsu, but more information has been hard to come by: at this stage the two companies are yet to divulge a title or a release date for the game.

However, Tecmo Koei did mention that a new Project Zero live-action film, comic book, and novel were also on the way.

Project Zero is known as Fatal Frame in Japan. There have been four games in the main series, although the fourth game – subtitled Mask of the Lunar Eclipse – never saw a release outside Japan.

A remake of Project Zero II: Crimson Butterfly launched for Wii in June 2012.

A flood of new information has been posted on the official Destiny website, including some details of the game’s character classes, enemies, and setting.

Bungie outlines the game’s story thus:

“Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. Long ago, it breathed new life into our system. Rain washed over Mars. Fresh air cleansed the skies over Venus. Soon after, humanity raced into the black, and colonized these newly remade worlds. It was a time of miracles – a great Golden Age.

Zynga founder Mark Pincus is stepping down from all operational duties at the company.

Pincus told Recode that he will shift to non-executive chairman of the San Francisco-based company, give up his title as chief product officer, and will no longer have employees under his command.

“I had wanted to stay on doing the product role for a while, because I wanted to put my hands on the product and make sure the company continued to also pursue its social mission,” he said.

Sony defends H1Z1 from DayZ cloning accusations

H1Z1 isn't just a big-budget DayZ clone, says Sony Online Entertainment boss John Smedley.

In a Reddit thread comparing the two titles, Smedley acknowledged the similarities, but also sought to highlight some differences.

"Not going to give some politically correct dodgy [bullsh***] answer," said Smedley. "It is a survival in a Zombie Apocalypse game. So is DayZ. [Bohemia Interactive] have made a brilliant game (first I might add). They have a great vision for it and can count myself and most of the people on our team as fans and contributors."
